RE: Leakage modelling based on head driven analysis

Dear Min Cheol,

You might try contacting the author of OOTEN Prof. Jakobus van Zyl and ask him for the source code.

Alternatively, you could try to implement the PDD functionality as suggested by Ang & Jowitt (2006) yourself according to the discussion of Rossman (2007).

Ang, W. K., & Jowitt, P. W. 2006 Solution for Water Distribution Systems under Pressure-Deficient Conditions. Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management, 132(3), 175-182.

Rossman, L. A. 2007 Discussion of "Solution for Water Distribution Systems under Pressure-Deficient Conditions" by Wah Khim Ang and Paul W. Jowitt. Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management, 133(6), 566-567.

Hope this helps.
i'm a master course graduated student..

i'm going to prepare my thesis..about HDSM model for water distribution system!

but korea doesn't have information about HDSM

i've studied HDSM model..BUT it's difficut to me

i want to develop HDSM model using OOTEN..

and i'll analysis water quality in water distribution system..

who is know how to make HDSM coding using OOTEN?

Hello All,

Im currently reseaching leakage modelling based on Head Driven Analysis with my backround is Civil engineering, And Im very interested the topic. Id like to find out more on the subject. If anyone has any input or assistance they know of then just drop me an e-mail. Im just joined the forum so I hope to learn a lot. All information on this subject is very much appreciated.

EnBW LeakControl

EnBW employs innovative technology to provide you with the best possible automatic monitoring system for your water distribution system. It instantly identifies changes in the mains system that suggest there may be damaged pipes, thus allowing you to take immediate action. The system therefore makes costly leakages that go on for a long time a thing of the past. And it also eliminates time-consuming searches for burst pipes.

The mains monitoring system is installed by EnBW experts before being handed over to you in a fully operational state. Our comprehensive service package also includes training for your employees and expert back-up, leaving you to reap maximum rewards with minimal effort.

Cutting-edge analysis and transmitting technology that guarantees fast, automatic notification of leakages

User-friendly software for logging data, making diagnoses and analysing the
entire water mains network - even when operational and at different levels of usage

Necessary measuring technology is delivered and installed

Software installation and configuration on the client’s computer system

In-house software training from experienced consultants

RE: Demand-driven analysis and leakage analysis/modelling

Just to update the first post in this thread. I have just completed a research amongst the most popular hydraulic solvers available on the market and the conclusion is following:

PDD is supported by (based on information on their websites):
WaterGems v8, SynerGEE Water and H2ONET

PDD is NOT up to 14 January 2008 supported by:
Aquis, PICCOLO, EPANET (although various PDD extensions of EPANET can be found in the literature)

sectorization projects references

I’m presently working on a sectorization project in order to obtain a better leakage management. The City of Montreal, Canada, wants to create DMA and PMA on its entire water distribution network serving 2 million people, which is presently highly meshed. We would like to meet facilities (engineers and operators), preferably in North America, that have gone through a similar project recently, in order to exchange on their experiences (good ones and bad ones…).

I would like to know if you have any references that would help us in our research.

Regards,
